RAINE & HORNE: YOUR HOME OF CHOICE

Raine & Horne have crafted a business philosophy instilled with meaning: "Your Home of Choice."

It embodies everything that makes life enjoyable—from selling or renting a home, to working within the team.

Raine & Horne Darwin boasts a proud partnership with the Top End community and has been a household name for more than four decades.

There are 25 staff members, including five residential sales agents, two auctioneers and 11 residential property managers.

“We’ve got a terrific team with outstanding experience,” says General Manager David Oliver, one of Northern Australia’s leading real estate agents. “We want to be the agency of choice for those who want to work in the real estate industry.

“And we want to be the place of choice for clients, whether they are buying, selling or renting.”

Raine & Horne Darwin manages one of the largest residential investment portfolios in the Northern Territory – covering all forms of home accommodation, from affordable units, rural lifestyle properties, middle-of-the road and up to luxury homes.

“It’s the backbone of our business,” says business Operations Manager Andrew Callinan.

Raine & Horne was established nationally in 1893 and is one of the oldest real estate companies in Australia.

Being part of such an established, highly-respected national network gives the Darwin operation tremendous credibility.

Staff fully understand the company’s underlying principles, which begin with the client first.

Buying, selling or renting out an investment property is a major decision – in fact, buying a home is likely to be the biggest financial outlay in your life.

That’s why David believes real estate agents can be as important as the family doctor, dentist or accountant.

“The process and experience should be rewarding,” he says. “We play a big role in protecting our clients’ capital.

“Communication and integrity are at the very heart of our ethics and we also employ a personal touch. It’s no surprise the agents who have the most face-to-face meetings are the ones who help more clients. So the old cliche is true – hard work pays off.”

FROM OUR DIRECTORS TO OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBER,

WE ARE FULLY COMMITTED TO THE TERRITORY BEING RAINE & HORNE DARWIN’S HOME OF CHOICE

Raine & Horne has worked hard in Greater Darwin for nearly 50 years to gain a reputation for honesty.

“Reputation is everything – without it, you cannot be a key stakeholder in a real estate relationship. We set ourselves high standards.

“Darwin doesn’t have a highpopulation, high-pressure business environment, but you must be professional – friendly, communicative, approachable, enthusiastic and relatable. I call it comfortable professionalism.

“Clients come to us because they know that our people are focussed on serving their interests. The client is the most important person or persons in everything we do. Again, that sounds like a cliche, but it’s true.

“We have a great team that supports each other. They treat every clients’ home like their own.”

Andrew says the firm is continually striving for improvement.

“Our aim, our vision, is for as many people as possible to talk to us if they want to buy, sell or rent. That is achieved through building relationships.”

Raine & Horne is always open to talking to people with a zest for the real estate industry.

The firm likes to give back to the community; for instance, it supports Dolly’s Dream, a Territory-born charity that addresses the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide.

David has returned to Raine & Horne after 18 years – he calls it “going home”.

He has been in the industry for more than 20 years and is now one of North Australia’s most respected real estate agents and managers.

But he did the hard way – building himself up from the most humble beginnings.

“My first job was in property management. I struggled, but Raine & Horne Darwin gave me a chance – what Territory businesses are so famous for.

“Not many will remember that for a while my chair was a milk crate with a cushion on top. And I ate my lunch by putting the yellow pages phone book across my lap and using it as a tray – luckily. our staff dining room now is much more comfortable.

“My Raine & Horne opportunity set up my life.”
