INNOVATIVE, STIMULATING PLAYSCAPES
With a young family, Ed and Emily Hardy of Hardy Landscaping know first-hand how vital good landscaping and playground design is
A local family operation, Hardy Landscaping has been looking after Territorians and their landscaping, irrigation and playground needs for 10 years. It’s their refreshing approach to residential and commercial projects that’s earned them an enviable, personable and knowledgeable reputation.
Having exclusive partnerships with eight of the world’s highest-quality playground equipment manufacturers, Hardy Landscaping can tailor playground designs to meet the different needs throughout the NT.
“In the Territory, playscapes encounter more issues because of our hotter temperatures and dramatic weather conditions,” says Ed. “Therefore, we give greater consideration to the location, design and materials used, ensuring paramount play opportunities for all children and all abilities before offering the best playgrounds designs to clients.
“Today, water play products are becoming more widely sought after throughout the Territory.”
Ed is passionate about creating play spaces that meet clients’ needs. The professional Hardy design team creates 2D and 3D perspectives for clients of their playground designs, making selection more straightforward. Whether a council, school, commercial building or an architect, Hardy Landscaping guides their clients through each project, offering cost saving advice, custom design ideas, assistance, and development.
“Our expert team installs all equipment in-person on-site, whether it’s around town or in remote rural communities. Playground equipment and children’s lives are too important to be left to do-it-yourself installation instructions.”
They recently installed a customised Omnitech playground at Galiwin’ku School. Its bold, bright design offers the pupils 40 different activities, with the school reporting back to Ed how much the kids love it. At the Stuart Park Childcare Centre the team created bright, new playscapes from textured concretes, rubber soft fall, mounded grassy knolls and different coloured shade sails to stimulate the children’s senses.
“It’s always satisfying to see the happy faces of staff and children as they venture through their new playground.”
Hardy Landscaping offers a diverse range of playscapes and outdoor fitness equipment. They designed and installed all the fitness equipment along the Nightcliff foreshore.
Colour, gloss retention and durability are also critical for all outdoor equipment, particularly in the Territory.
“Our manufacturing process uses UV stabilisers, high-performance pigments, advanced polyester resin technology, and also marine-grade products and anti-graffiti solutions if required.”
Ed and his team’s acute understanding of the Territory environment and its people is applied to all his landscape, irrigation and playground projects.
They consider all challenges, develop sustainable, visually impactful bespoke designs, and fully execute every stage of the project from start to finish.
They use only the highest quality materials in all of their projects, preventing additional costs in the future. Whether for commercial, government or residential, Hardy Landscaping offers a full service, significantly reducing project costs with no middlemen or subcontractors, plus ensuring a higher quality finished product.
“We continue to support our clients long after project completion,” Ed says. “We’re Territorian and we believe in looking after our clients every step of the way.”
