DARWIN MAZDA TRIUMPHS AGAIN
Family-owned Darwin Mazda has scored an extraordinary hat-trick by being named Australian Mazda Master Dealer for the third year running.
Judges carried out an exhaustive assessment before declaring that the dealership on the Stuart Highway had reached a standard of excellence putting it at the top of the profession nationwide.
They looked at business performance indicators, the Mazda customer service index, facilities and standards.
Darwin Mazda’s 50 staff are delighted that they scored superbly by every measure.
Dealer Principal Lee Poulton attributes the achievement to good staff, state-of-the-art facilities, focused leadership and a great product.
“It’s difficult to recruit staff in Darwin, but we put a lot of effort into recruiting and retaining the right people,” he says.
“And we do that by creating a great working environment and strive to be the employer of choice within the automotive industry.
“In the end, it’s all about people, whether that’s staff or clients. If you put people first success will follow.”
Service Manager Ben Carberry says Darwin Mazda excels because it strictly follows a simple core principle – customer service.
The dealership offers a comprehensive range of services, including the sale of new and used cars, servicing vehicles, selling spare parts, operating a trade-in service, and arranging finance and insurance.
It has a bright, welcoming showroom.
Darwin Mazda provides expert after-sales service and has a courtesy pick-up and drop-off service.
The friendly and highly professional team likes to say that customers “experience the difference” whether buying, selling, leasing or having their vehicle serviced.
Mazda has a reputation as one of the most reliable brands in the world – every model holds its value well.
“We don’t get many trade-ins because motorists tend to keep hold of their Mazdas for a long time and then when they want to upgrade they often give the car to their kids,” says Mr Carberry.
Darwin Mazda sells everything from the economical Mazda 2 and small SUV Mazda CX-30 to the large SUV Mazda CX-9 and soft top Mazda MX-5, plus the highly popular BT50 ute.
The dealership is taking orders for two new, eagerly-awaited, premium models – the CX-60 and the larger CX90 – which are expected to arrive soon.
Darwin Mazda, which has been operating for 18 years and is fully locally owned, has 15 mechanics, including three apprentices, who are all Territorians.
The business supports the local community, charities and sporting clubs.
