BRYSON KELLY: A FAMILY FIRM

A law firm owned by father and daughter combination Richard Bryson and Bronte Kelly is doing extraordinarily well for two key reasons – it is a grounded Territory family business offering unmatched experience and expertise.

Not surprisingly, much of the work carried out by Darwin-based Bryson Kelly Barristers & Solicitors comes from personal recommendations.

“We get a lot of work from the friends and relatives of clients,” Richard says. “We also get a great deal of work from local businesses.”

Bryson Kelly’s services include commercial law, family law, crime, estate planning and wills, deceased estates (administration and probate), conveyancing, employment law and professional disciplinary matters.

Richard has significant prior experience as a senior detective with NT police and as a prosecutor.

He is also a graduate of the FBI Academy in the United States.

Richard’s background gives him the ability to not only resolve legal challenges in a practical way but also to carry out workplace and disciplinary investigations to the highest standards.

Since his admission to the Supreme Court in 2004, he has skillfully handled a wide range of complex criminal cases, including homicide, sexual offences, robbery and fraud.

Bronte was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court in 2021.

She was born in Alice Springs and has also lived in Darwin and Katherine, which gives her a deep knowledge of the Territory and connects her to the community.

Many Territory clients go to her because they trust her to be straight-forward, honest and on their side.

Bronte, who specialises in criminal law and family law matters, has built a reputation for her dedication and attention to detail.

Her husband Jack joined Bryson Kelly as a lawyer at the end of last year.

All three lawyers graduated from Charles Darwin University.

To round off the family’s legal credentials, Bronte’s elder brother Stewart is a principal lawyer within the commercial division at the NT Department of Justice.

Richard and Bronte understand that the legal system can appear complicated to clients, so they ensure they provide clear and straightforward legal guidance.

The firm also offers compassionate support to help clients navigate their legal problems.

Bryson Kelly provides cost-effective solutions and transparent fee structures to ease financial stress for clients.

Above all, the firm uses a deep understanding of the local legal landscape to meet clients’ needs.
