BEST OF THE BEST
It’s one of the most highly-anticipated times in the business calendar – awards season for the Chamber of Commerce.
Two major awards – the Chief Minister’s Export Awards and the Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards – are underway.
Both recognise excellence and are highly prestigious.
The Chamber’s International Business Council has been hosting the Export Awards on behalf of the Chief Minister for 31 years to celebrate businesses involved in export and international trade, a sector incredibly important for the Territory economy.
The Business Excellence Awards, which started in Alice Springs in 2010 as the Customer Service Awards, have taken the NT by storm – there are now regional awards in all five Territory regions.
Both awards will this year focus on supporting businesses through the application process, including application writing workshops and appointment of award ambassadors.
And there will be collaboration with the tourism and retail sectors on the promotion of the Customer Service Award categories – highlighting the Territory as a great place for locals and tourists to visit and working through with business and industry on how entering awards makes good business sense, whether it’s a win or not.
Chamber of Commerce chief executive Greg Ireland says: “Award programs are crucial for business recognition at all development stages.
“The Chief Minister’s Export Awards and the Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards celebrate achievements, driving excellence across the Northern Territory. They spotlight business successes in export and customer service, underlining our economy’s diversity and dynamism.
“Through workshops, ambassadorship, and participation encouragement, these awards highlight the strategic importance of entry, fostering excellence and innovation. This not only benefits participating businesses but also positions the Northern Territory as a top trade and tourism destination.”
