ZIPPRINT’S GROWTH A SIGN OF THE TIMES

One of the Northern Territory’s leading printing and graphic design companies has expanded its range of services after the owner received an unexpected Christmas present.

Mark Teakle was on holiday with his wife Cathy and son Luke when highly-skilled signwriter Tim Feehan telephoned him from Darwin and said: “I can start on January 2.”

“I was delighted that he was coming to join our team.”

Mark returned home eager to get back to work and immediately began offering high-quality signage to his Darwin-based business ZipPrint.

“Our signage has really taken off,” he says. “We have had to work around the clock for the past few months to keep up with the demand.

“I had always planned to produce signage in-house and offer our clients a one-stop shop for all of their design, printing and signage needs.”

ZipPrint already employs three apprentices and the extra work has enabled him to take on several extra staff.

ZipPrint is based in a modern 1150 square metre building in Sweet Street, Winnellie, and the office is a showcase of the company’s design and printing expertise.

The team has made great efforts to make the workplace welcoming — everything from arty prints on the walls to the cleverly-designed Curlew Cafe for staff.

“It’s important to be happy at work,” says Mark. “We had a part-time member of the team ask if she could work full time because it was such a good place to be.

“We work hard but the atmosphere is good.”

Mark, who went into business in 2012 after managing printing businesses in Alice Springs and Darwin from the age of 21, says: “We have invested in state-of-the-art printing and signwriting equipment to supply quality products at competitive prices.”

The company’s signage includes everything from simple cut text and printed vinyl stickers to full car wraps and internal and external building signage.

In-house services include graphic design, offset and digital, and wide-format printing.

Highly-skilled graphic designers can bring any concept to life — whether it’s a simple business card design or a total business rebrand of all printing and signage needs.

ZipPrint and Asprint supply printing for everything from simple invitations, business cards, carbonless books, such as invoice, order and prestart books, full-colour promotional brochures all the way up to large volume magazine work and fine art catalogues.
