WATER THAT CHANGES LIVES
Aboriginal Investment Group are providing wholesale quantities of Territory bottled water to make a real difference to the lives of thousands.

When people choose AIG’s Remote Laundry bottled water, they are not just hydrating –they are contributing to a groundbreaking initiative that empowers Aboriginal communities.
AIG Remote Laundries have been operating since 2019, providing essential laundry services in some of the most remote regions of the NT.
By the end of 2025, it had 10 laundries in operation, creating employment opportunities for Aboriginal people and improving the health and wellbeing of entire communities. Every bottle of water purchased directly supports this mission.
Buying AIG’s Remote Laundry bottled water is an investment in people and is the socially responsible choice.
Since launching our Remote Laundries project, AIG has employed 91 Aboriginal people, offering stable jobs, skills training and economic independence. Additionally, the laundries have improved hygiene and wellbeing for more than 4000 Aboriginal people living in remote areas.
Access to clean laundry facilities is something most take for granted, but in remote communities, it can mean the difference between good health and chronic illness. By supporting the bottled water initiative, consumers help ensure that Aboriginal families have access to clean clothes, which helps prevent diseases such as scabies, rheumatic heart disease and other hygiene-related illnesses.
Unlike major bottled water brands that focus purely on profit, AIG’s Remote Laundry bottled water reinvests 100 percent of its profits back into Remote Laundries. That means every dollar people spend helps maintain and expand laundry facilities that directly improves lives.
The water is sourced locally through Akuna Springs (Territory Springwater), meaning the purchase also supports Territory business. By keeping production and supply within the NT, the project contributes to the local economy and reduces the environmental footprint.
The product range includes convenient 600ml and 1.5L bottles, making it easy to stay hydrated while making a meaningful impact. To make the product even more special, there is a newly designed label by Sam Autio, the Remote Laundry team leader at the Casuarina laundry, giving the water a unique, community-driven identity.
Remote Aboriginal communities face serious health risks due to a lack of laundry facilities.
Scabies, a preventable disease, leads to acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. More than 80 percent of children in northern Australia develop skin sores by their first birthday, with 98 percent of rheumatic heart disease cases in the NT affecting Indigenous people.
AIG’s Remote Laundries project provides free, year-round access to commercial-grade laundries with hot water, power and medical-grade detergents that eliminate disease-causing bacteria and mites.
Since 2019, the laundries have reduced scabies infections in Barunga by 60 percent and prevented new rheumatic heart disease cases.
Built and operated by an Aboriginal corporation, the laundries also create economic independence. They have employed 91 Indigenous staff and injected more than $750,000 in wages into remote communities.
Traditional Owners and leaders report improved health, better school attendance and increased workforce participation.
A 2020 KPMG study found that every dollar invested in Remote Laundries saves $6 in healthcare costs. This initiative is delivering lasting health, social, and economic benefits. TQ
