The Analyst Behind the Numbers 

Meet Piyush Gupta, our Data Analyst and a recent Master of Data Science graduate from Charles Darwin University (CDU). Since joining Sprout, he has delivered insights and reporting for clients including AFL NT, Tourism Top End, the Mitchell Centre and several social media accounts. 

“My journey into data science wasn’t a straight path, but it’s one I’ve fully embraced,” Piyush said. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, he later pursued data science, a shift that transformed how he tackles complex problems. 

Before Sprout, Piyush worked as a Data Operations Associate at Amazon, preparing image datasets for machine-learning models. There, he learned the importance of clean, accurate and balanced data—an essential principle in all effective analytics. His CDU thesis strengthened this foundation as he developed a deep learning model to detect diseases in mango plants. 

At Sprout, he blends technical skill with strategic thinking. From building dashboards and analysing campaign performance to refining target audiences and identifying top-performing channels, Piyush turns data into actionable insights that shape future direction. He works closely with our creative team to ensure insights translate into clear narratives and informed strategy.
