TRACKS CARE

PROVIDING CULTURALLY SAFE DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICES

Indigenous-owned TRACKS Care is making a significant difference by offering culturally safe disability services tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

With a strong foundation in understanding and respecting cultural values, the organisation is dedicated to improving the lives of Aboriginal people with disabilities.

Darwin-based TRACKS Care is expanding across the Northern Territory and plans to extend its services nationally.

It was created to fill the gap in disability support services for Indigenous Australians, ensuring that all Aboriginal people have access to services that are culturally appropriate, respectful and empowering.

Founder Nicole Thompson says: “Our point of difference lies in our unwavering commitment to delivering services that are tailored to the unique needs, values and cultural perspectives of Indigenous people with disability.”

A key part of TRACKS Care’s mission is to grow its team by hiring Aboriginal employees, creating culturally supportive work environments, and providing training and employment opportunities.

The business not only supports people with disability but also focuses on empowering Aboriginal people by offering training, development and career pathways.

Nicole says: “We are committed to hiring Aboriginal employees, creating culturally supportive work environments, and building capacity within Indigenous communities through employment and training opportunities.”

TRACKS Care offers a range of NDIS services focused on daily living supports, community access, assistance to explore, gain and maintain employment, along with domestic help.

Each service is personalised to meet the unique needs of participants, ensuring that care is culturally respectful and promotes independence and wellbeing.

“Our aim is to provide a culturally safe environment where individuals feel understood, valued and supported,” Nicole says.

“We’ve always understood the importance of delivering services that respect and uphold the cultural identities of Indigenous people, and TRACKS Care is a natural extension of that ethos.”

TRACKS Care recognises the importance of building strong, trustworthy relationships within the communities it serves. The organisation leverages word-of-mouth and community networks to reach those who would benefit most from culturally sensitive support, ensuring that each participant receives the care they need to thrive.

“It’s fulfilling to build a business that aligns with our values and contributes meaningfully to the community, including creating pathways for Indigenous employment,” Nicole says.

With a growing team and a clear vision, TRACKS Care is making a difference for Aboriginal people with disability, providing them with the opportunity to live independent, empowered lives, supported by services that are genuinely tailored to their cultural needs.
