RED TAPE TARGETED
A star-studded line-up of industry leaders will speak at the most important conference on the Northern Territory’s business calendar.


The annual NT Resources Week, which is supported by the NT Government and organised by event management company Informa, will be held at the Darwin Convention Centre from 3-4 September.
As usual, the conference will be a three-headed affair – SEAAOC, Mining the Territory, and Clean Energy and Decarbonisation.
Themes of SEAOCC, the major oil and gas industry conference, include removing red tape.
One of the key speakers will be newly-appointed Territory Coordinator Stuart Knowles, who has the job of easing the way for wealth-creating major projects.
Other speakers include Tetsu Murayama of INPEX, Joel Riddle of Tamboran Resources, Alex Underwood of Empire Energy, Samantha McCulloch of Australian Energy Producers, Tracey Hayes of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility and Adam Watson of APA Group.
Other themes include:
- Energy sector outlook, strategic security, resilience and environmental sustainability
- Outlook for gas – supply, demand, regulation, competition and security
- Offshore oil and gas – outlook, investments and exploration

Speakers at Mining the Territory include Mark Furlotte of Glencore, Darryl Cuzzubbo of Arafura Resources and Justin Meillon of Newmont.
Key themes include updates from the major mines operating in Territory; the latest exploration initiatives and project development in the Barkly region; and company updates from leading explorers operating in Northern Australia.
Clean Energy and Decarbonisation themes include renewable energy policy and targets; updates on major renewable energy projects, such as CCUS, solar farms, battery storage, wind farms and hydrogen; and land access, social licence and land regulatory challenges.
