NTIBN: MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Mick’s Crane – Michael Assan

Becoming a part of the NT Indigenous Business Network has been a transformative experience for Mick’s Cranes Australia. As the Northern Territory’s first Indigenous-owned crane company, we are committed to creating opportunities for local and Indigenous communities while delivering high-quality crane and labour hire services.

NTIBN has been an incredible partner in helping us achieve this mission. Through their guidance, resources and network, NTIBN has provided us with invaluable support in navigating the complexities of establishing and growing a business in the Northern Territory. Their advocacy has not only connected us with key stakeholders but has also opened doors to opportunities that align with our vision of regional development and Indigenous empowerment.

The NTIBN team has been instrumental in fostering our credibility and visibility in the market, helping us to secure partnerships and contracts that are crucial to our growth. Their unwavering commitment to supporting Indigenous businesses like ours has been a driving force behind our ability to deliver exceptional services while staying true to our cultural values.

We are deeply grateful for NTIBN’s support and look forward to continuing this partnership as we work together to create a stronger, more inclusive business landscape in the Northern Territory.

Don Baylis – TEABBA

As a Certified Member, the NTIBN team are amazing, and have helped promote TEABBA, as well as linking us up with other businesses through their Trade Show and other networking opportunities, which has already been beneficial. They are forthcoming with support and directional advice. As an observer, I appreciate their skills towards being professional yet approachable to those that struggle with Numeracy and literacy skills. I also welcome their vast acceptance of Individual owner operators to large Organisations and Corporations, where everyone has the opportunity to showcase and be a part of like-minded people / groups to advance forward.

Elaine Mills – The Indigenous Real Estate Company

NTIBN has been incredibly helpful in promoting The Indigenous Real Estate Company and facilitating valuable networking opportunities. Their support has played a key role in expanding our reach and connecting with the right people in the industry. We truly appreciate their efforts in helping us grow and succeed.

Charmaine Ingram – Native Bird Media

I would like to congratulate the staff at NTIBN as the year comes to an end for all their hard work and dedication to Blak businesses in the NT. As a newly registered small business owner here in the Top End, I have engaged their services as a member and have been impressed with the knowledge and resources available. As daunting as it is learning about all the ins and outs of being a business owner and learning the administration side of things, the team at NTIBN have supported me through parts of this process. From business planning to assisting with financial forecasting, they are here to help. The team make you feel comfortable throughout this start-up phase and no question is a silly one. I also appreciate being able to use their modern office spaces and facilities as a location to conduct my work and meetings as needed. It’s a vibrant hub and there’s always some sort of workshop on that could be relevant to your business. It’s great to be surrounded by a team who want to see you succeed. I would recommend all First Nations business owners and emerging business owners to connect with NTIBN and or become a member. There are a lot of resources and networks available to make your new business adventure feel supported and ready to launch. I look forward to continuing this relationship in the New Year.

Carmen Douglas – Power and Water Corporation

Since joining the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network in 2023, Power and Water has greatly benefited from its support and resources. NTIBN has been instrumental in facilitating connections with Indigenous businesses. One of the standout features of NTIBN has been their Hub. This independent meeting space has provided a culturally safe and welcoming environment for our Reconciliation Advisory Committee meetings. The Hub’s well-equipped facilities and the friendly, supportive staff have greatly enhanced our ability to conduct these meetings effectively. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to deepen our strategic relationship with NTIBN. By working together, we aim to strengthen engagement in procurement and supply chain management, fostering more significant opportunities for Indigenous businesses. Thank you, NTIBN, for your continued support and dedication to creating impactful connections.

Kevin and Jodie Fisher – Serendipity Nursery and Garden Décor

Cherie has been incredibly helpful in guiding us through the process of applying for NTIBN registration. She has provided valuable advice on the right grants to pursue and the most beneficial workshops to attend. I truly believe that our association with NTIBN will play a significant role in our business’s future growth, especially with the exposure and opportunities NTIBN offers.

Anya Lorimer – Sprout

I am thrilled to share my experience with the recent collaboration between NTIBN and Campaign Edge Sprout in delivering Australia’s first Indigenous Business Magazine and social media workshops tailored for your members. This partnership has proven to be an incredible success, empowering Aboriginal businesses with 12 month editorial and social media exposure plus sharing essential digital skills and knowledge. From the outset, NTIBN’s commitment to fostering a supportive and innovative environment was evident. The collaboration not only enhances skills and business profiling but also fostered a sense of connection among members. The launch of Blak Business Magazine has brought an added layer of authenticity and relevance, ensuring that the content resonated deeply with the broader business community and NTIBN members. This is something we are very proud of. Together, we have created a valuable resource through upskilling and publishing that will have lasting benefits for Aboriginal businesses in the Northern Territory and added value to the NTIBN network. We are incredibly grateful for this collaboration and look forward to future initiatives that continue to uplift and empower your members.
