MONADELPHOUS CELEBRATES APPRENTICE ACHIEVEMENTS

Operating in the Northern Territory since 1993 and opening a Darwin workshop in 1994 to support key energy contracts, Monadelphous is a key partner at INPEX providing operational, campaign and shutdown maintenance services.

Monadelphous offers extensive graduate, vacation, apprenticeship and traineeship programs to attract new talent, and places great importance on supporting and providing quality training to their apprentices, which is critical to the company’s growth in the Territory and supporting long-term partner INPEX.

Through their apprenticeship program, Monadelphous recruits locally to nurture and develop talent into trades pathways.

Apprentices are required to learn a broad range of skills, as well as having the opportunity to work in town with local businesses in addition to their site-based work.

Once qualified, the apprentices will have gained nationally recognised certificates by combining paid work with hands-on training in mechanical fitting, or a dual trade electrical and instrumentation apprenticeship.

Hailee completed her apprenticeship this year, and her dedication and talent have been recognised across the industry earning her several awards. She was the winner of the Northern Territory’s Women in Resources Tradeswoman/Operator/ Technician Award and also received the NAIDOC Award for Apprentice of the Year.

Now a qualified mechanical fitter, Hailee is excited about what’s next.

“Since completing my apprenticeship I have transitioned into a full-time role as a qualified mechanical fitter,” she says. “I‘m looking forward to continuing to learn and grow, and I remain committed to supporting and mentoring others, particularly women and Indigenous Australians entering the trade.”

Monadelphous has more than 200 employees onsite for Ichthys LNG project, including 20 apprentices, with five on track to be fully qualified by mid-2026.

It holds long-term onshore and offshore maintenance contracts.

With a strong emphasis on sustainability, training locals, and building a safe and respectful workplace, Monadelphous continues to strengthen its position working with the community in the Territory.
