HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL
A national civil and building construction company with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across Australia is expanding in the Northern Territory.

Georgiou Group, which has more than 45 years experience in the industry, has grown into an industry leader known for quality, safety and innovation.
Its expansion into the Territory is driven by a commitment to deliver high-quality infrastructure.
Business Development Director Michael Ioannakis says the company’s plans include:
Expanding local partnerships with NT-based businesses and Indigenous enterprises.
Delivering critical infrastructure projects that enhance regional connectivity and economic development.
Investing in workforce development, creating training and employment pathways for local communities.
Supporting the NT’s infrastructure needs by bringing national expertise while ensuring benefits remain within the Territory.
Continuing its proven track record of successfully delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia, backed by a highly experienced team and strong financial capability.
“Georgiou is here for the long haul, committed to building not just projects, but lasting relationships and a stronger Northern Territory,” Mr Ioannakis says.
The business was founded in 1977 and aspires to become one of Australia’s most trusted construction companies. It now employs more than 900 people.
Expansion into the Territory began more than two years ago.
“By leveraging our expertise and working closely with NT-based businesses, we aim to strengthen local industry and create lasting benefits for the Territory.”
Georgiou’s core services include transport infrastructure, such as roads, bridges and rail; resources and energy projects; marine and water infrastructure; and Defence and government projects.
“Our expertise extends from project conception through to delivery, ensuring best-practice construction methodologies and a strong focus on safety, quality and sustainability,” says Mr Ioannakis.
“Georgiou stands apart through our collaborative approach, local engagement and commitment to Indigenous participation and community development.
To strengthen regional businesses, Georgiou pledges to partner with local subcontractors and suppliers.
The company is committed to continuing its strong track record of working with Indigenous-owned businesses and supporting community initiatives. Georgiou will also prioritise providing employment and training opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Moreover, the company vows to exceed industry safety standards and ensure its projects leave a lasting positive impact by supporting local workforce development, apprenticeships and grassroots community programs.
Regional Manager Andrew Morris says: “As part of our commitment to building long-term capacity in the NT, we are actively promoting the Northern Territory lifestyle to our entire workforce.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many employees expressing interest in relocating to the NT — not only to contribute to our projects but to embrace the Territory as their new home.
“This initiative strengthens our ability to deliver key infrastructure while also enriching the NT community with skilled professionals who are invested in the region’s future.
“We are a people business — our success is built on the skills, dedication, and passion of our team.
“Georgiou Group is building more than infrastructure — it’s building a stronger, more connected Northern Territory. And as we grow, we remain committed to our vision of being ‘the best people to work with.”
