GROWING STRONGER, ONE PASS AT A TIME
In the Northern Territory, partnerships are strongest when they reflect the realities of place and the aspirations of its people.
That principle underpins the partnership between INPEX and Netball Northern Territory, a collaboration focused on building opportunity, leadership and long‑term community strength through sport.
Netball is one of the Territory’s most widely played sports, particularly among women and girls, offering connection, confidence and a sense of belonging across urban, regional and remote communities.
INPEX’s partnership with Netball NT recognises the powerful role sport plays in developing not only athletes but future leaders.
Through this partnership, INPEX supports programs that strengthen participation, capability and pathways across the Territory, including targeted investment in youth leadership through Netball NT’s Youth Advisory Group supporting opportunity on and off the court.
At its core, the partnership is about access and voice.
For young Territorians, sport can be a platform for developing life skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience.
INPEX’s support of Netball NT enables programs that build these capabilities at all levels, from grassroots participation to emerging leadership opportunities. A key element of this is the Youth Advisory Group, which provides young people with a meaningful voice in the future of the sport, while developing leadership, governance awareness and confidence.
By supporting the Youth Advisory Group, INPEX is enabling young Territorians to take part in netball, and contributes to decision‑making and the direction of the sport.
The initiative reflects a shared belief that empowering young people strengthens both communities and organisations.
Netball has long been a pathway for women’s leadership, and the partnership between INPEX and Netball NT builds this legacy by intentionally supporting the next generation.
The Youth Advisory Group brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to share perspectives, ideas and lived experience. This supports Netball NT to give participants practical leadership experience that can translate into education, employment and community roles.
For INPEX, supporting youth leadership aligns with its broader commitment to education, inclusion and capability building across the Northern Territory.
The INPEX partnership with Netball NT is more than supporting a sport – it is about contributing to strong, connected communities and creating pathways for young people to succeed.
