DARWIN GOES DIGITAL

Darwin is well positioned to become Northern Australia’s most advanced digital economy and Australia’s gateway to Asia and beyond.

Multiple subsea cables are planned, which support opportunities for data centre growth and the growth of AI.

A major data centre has already opened in Darwin and many digital companies now operate out of the city.

The prospects for the Territory’s capital as a digital hub will be discussed during the Investment Summit.

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro will deliver the opening address of the summit on the theme: Outpacing the nation – why invest in the Northern Territory.

She will be followed by Joe Hockey’s keynote address, which will focus on geopolitics and the Territory’s global position.
The Darwin Major Business Group will use the opportunity to reinforce how the Territory is an attractive destination for business, trade and investment.

Government and business leaders will detail key initiatives and reforms aimed at unlocking investment and business growth opportunities.

A special “fireside chat” will detail how the Territory Government is engaging with the Federal Government and the private sector to deliver the infrastructure and logistics necessary to spur economic growth.

Understanding land and water access in the Territory will be discussed by a panel.

The summit will be closed by Trade, Business and Asian Relations Minister Robyn Cahill. TQ
