BROTHERS BUILDING A STRONG BUSINESS
Darwin-based civil construction company KMACC, which has been operating for just over a year, has been engaged by Enviropacific to carry out remediation work at RAAF Base Darwin.

The project includes removing synthetic chemicals known as PFAS.
“I’ve gained relevant experience in this kind of work over a number of years,” says Barry Davis, who founded the company with his brother Wayne.
The hardworking brothers hope their engagement will extend beyond their present commitment and turn into a potential three years.
Enviropacific Project Director Jason Cole is pleased with KMACC’s work.
“We look forward to ongoing engagement with KMACC in supporting the delivery of these projects with on-site plant, equipment and workforce requirements,” he says.
“Enviropacific work to create safer environments and sustainable communities by preventing, stopping and reversing environmental damage through specialist engineering and applied science solutions in remediation, water and resource recovery.
“In delivering projects for our national clients, we recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their connection to waters, land, and culture is a rich and diverse history.
“We are taking proactive measures to increase participation in our business in the many communities we operate in and we believe that we work best when our workforce is representative of the diversity of the communities in which we work.”
KMACC stands for Kaytej Mining and Civil Construction.
Wayne and Barry are both NT born and raised – their family are Kaytej people from the Barrow Creek region.
Both men have extensive experience working in the mining industry.
“We’re keen to win work in the resources industry and on a range of civil construction projects,” says Wayne. “We understand the industry reasonably well.”
Wayne also has expertise in community engagement, which is vital for most mining projects.
The brothers started KMACC because they wanted to offer services to different mining and civil opportunities.
“We want to use our own experiences and extensive backgrounds in the industry,” says Wayne.
“I want to benefit more from my own intellectual property in building KMACC, rather than give that value to someone else.
“We want to move forward and make a difference in our community.”
KMACC has all the qualifications, licences, tickets, assets and insurances for civil construction work.
