A NIGHT OF UNITY
The red desert sky of Central Australia glowed with a shared sense of purpose as the South & Central chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities hosted its inaugural Alice Springs ball.

Held at the stunning Old Quarry, the event drew a vibrant crowd of 300 community leaders, healthcare professionals, local businesses and supporters, all united to celebrate, support and uplift Territory families.
More than $56,000 was raised.
The evening was a tapestry of connection and culture, with live music resonating through the ancient ranges and heartfelt stories shared under the starlit sky.
It was a magical night that showcased the resilience and spirit of Central Australia’s communities, while raising vital awareness and support for Ronald McDonald’s mission to provide comfort and care to families with seriously ill or injured children.
RMHC SCA Chief Executive Officer Melissa Monkhouse spoke passionately about the organisation’s commitment to supporting families, particularly those from remote and regional areas of the Northern Territory.
With 33 percent of families supported at RMHC’s Adelaide House hailing from the NT, the need for accessible, compassionate care in Central Australia is undeniable.
“For many families, accessing medical treatment for their child means traveling vast distances,” Melissa said. “Our work is about easing that burden, offering a safe and supportive space so families can focus on being together during challenging times.”
Funds raised and connections forged during the event will directly contribute to RMHC SCA’s efforts to provide accommodation, emotional support and practical assistance to families across the Territory, in particular Central Australia.
The night highlighted the strength of partnerships between local businesses and the community, all rallying behind a shared vision of hope and care.
RMHC SCA expressed deep gratitude to all attendees, sponsors and supporters who made the evening a resounding success.
The Alice Springs Gala Ball not only celebrated the heart of the Territory but also reinforced RMHC SCA’s unwavering dedication to keeping families close when it matters most.
Together, this vibrant community is building a brighter future for Territory families, one moment of connection at a time.
